to management solved, bumped car victim appeased
daughter's impending school start settled with ease.
going with the flow, sending love vibes for peace.
i even put in 3 hours at work till the novocaine
began to wear off. 

but i didn't answer the fortyish guy
didn't go to an open mic
didn't ride my bike or swim in da pool
just lay in my bed,  my mouth in a drool.

i only thought about you in the abstract
in the everywhere with specifics
attached to nowhere at all floating
an identifiable drifting object
on the edges of my story , firmly
enwrapped in yours.
